Air Abrasion
If you’re afraid of shots and dental drills, there’s a gentle new dentistry solution just for you! Now, with micro-air abrasion, Willis & Hook Dental Associates can literally spray away your dental decay.
Air Abrasion is so pain-free, you won’t even need dental anesthesia! We pinpoint your problem using magnification, then with a mixture of warm compressed air and precisely controlled volume of sand-like particles, we easily spray away dental decay.
Bleaching
Dental Bleaching can be used to correct many tooth discolorations. Staining, ageing, or chemical damage to teeth may have caused these discolorations. Using the latest beaching technology, we can offer a safe method for creating a beautiful, confident smile.
Bleaching works on people of all ages. It is a near permanent solution for a “dull” smile, restoring brightness and brings a smile alive.
Cerec 3D
Willis & Hook can now help you maintain and improve your smile more conveniently than ever before with a new instrument called CEREC 3D.
CEREC 3D camera allows us to offer natural-looking, high-quality ‘fillings’ or restorations, completed and placed in a single office visit! We can quickly and economically restore damaged teeth using a durable ceramic material that matched the natural color of your teeth.
Computer Aided Design technology helps us design the restoration from the optical impression. You can actually watch us design your new restoration on a full-color monitor right before your eyes!
Crowns & Bridges
When damage to a patient’s teeth is extreme and looks beyond repair, we can use porcelain or porcelain “bonded to gold” crowns to make the smile and the damaged teeth appear “as new”. Crowns and Bridges replace missing teeth, offer support to misshaped or badly broken teeth. It looks completely natural and fixes major “smile” and functional chewing problems.
Crown and Bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused through accidents, disease or wear and tear. The most major of problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Materials used in these repairs are either high grade porcelain, or porcelain bonded to gold. Crowns and Bridges can be used for long term solutions.
DIAGNOdent
More and more patients place value on healthy and attractive teeth. In order to maintain them, the earliest possible care is essential. DIAGNOdent aids in the detection of caries. Even the small lesions are detected at the earliest stage, enabling you to protect and preserve the tooth substance.
Digital Radiography
Digital radiography provides filmless pictures and reduces the patient’s exposure to radiation by as much as 90 percent. The doctor gets instant retrieval on the computer allowing a more accurate diagnosis of the set and a better understanding for the patient of calculus build up on their teeth and improperly placed or deteriorating fillings due to the larger image on the monitor. Computer image processing can be enhanced, changed, or reversed for better diagnosis.
Fillings
Tooth colored fillings can, in many cases be used to repair problems with either front or back teeth. A variety of materials are used for these fillings, and are tailored to the individual circumstances. In front teeth, tooth colored fillings are made of either plastic or “liquid glass” and repair dental decay, erosion or abrasion problems with an undetectable end result. In back teeth, “liquid glasses” or plastic fillings can be used to repair small decay or erosion problems or replace the silver fillings that a lot of people don’t like to have. For more major problems, tooth colored fillings may not be the best answer, and we may need to place either porcelain veneers, ceramic inlays, or crowns and bridges.
Implants
Implants are the high technology answer for people missing one or more teeth. The technology for this has been developed over the last 35 years and offers a solution for people who would otherwise have to contemplate a future with no teeth. Based on titanium “roots”, the implants can be used to completely replace missing teeth, to reclaim a confident appearance and restore complete function.
Implants allow replacement of dentures with “natural” teeth. They behave exactly like your own teeth and they look
and feel real.
Inlays/Onlays
Our office is one of a few in the Carolinas to purchase the CEREC 3D technology for ceramic inlays and onlays. Inlays repair moderately damaged back teeth and are made of extremely tough industrial strength ceramics. An only not only fits within the tooth’s contours, but also adds extra protection by covering the tooth’s chewing surface – the cusp tips of the tooth. In collaboration with CEREC 3D, we can manufacture extremely tight fitting and durable onlays and inlays for back teeth, while you watch. This saves you the time of previously requiring a second office visit.

NTI-tss
The Nociceptive Trigeminal Inhibition Tension Suppression System is a FDA approved device that prevents medically diagnosed migraine pain, tension-type headaches, and jaw disorders (“TMJ”), without drugs or surgery, through the reduction of trigeminally innervated muscular activity. The N.T.I. Tension Suppression System is a prefabricated polycarbonate matrix that a dental practitioner retro-fits to the patient’s teeth. It is completely different from any other type of mouthpiece.
Veneers
Veneers are thin shells that are laid onto the teeth and bonded to the surface. Although they can be made of different materials, porcelain is frequently used because of its durability and realistic appearance. Veneers are more conservative alternative to crowns since they require less removal of the tooth’s original surface. With veneers in place, patients can expect straighter, whiter, and more even teeth.
